The EL Classroom Blueprint

A practical resource library for EL teachers who want less searching, less second-guessing, and more ready-to-use support.

Ready-to-use newcomer lessons, vocabulary activities, classroom tools, and practical professional learning—all organized in one place.
Teaching multilingual learners shouldn't feel like guessing every day.
Many EL teachers are piecing together lessons, searching for materials, and trying to figure out what will actually work with the students in front of them.

The Blueprint gives you a practical place to turn when you need a lesson, vocabulary support, classroom tool, or straightforward guidance without starting from scratch.

What the Blueprint is - and isn't

The EL Classroom Blueprint is not a scripted curriculum or a step-by-step scope and sequence.

It’s a flexible resource library filled with ready-to-use lessons, vocabulary activities, classroom tools, and practical professional learning. Use what you need, when you need it

If you're looking for a more structured roadmap for what to teach your newcomer students and in what order, the Newcomer Teaching Compass was created for that.

“Thank you! This year was my first teaching ESL and I was looking for something exactly like this for my newcomers"

Diane S.
EL teacher

“The lessons and videos of you talking were so helpful - made me feel connected. I also really loved how you described what the goal of each lesson would be. This was great!”

Kristen O.
ENL teacher
" The practical and user-friendly tools and strategies that are offered and easy to implement with my middle school 6-8 multilingual learners are so helpful. Thank you!"
Valerie El
ESL teacher

Is This For You?

The Blueprint is for you if:

  • you teach newcomers or multilingual learners across different proficiency levels
  • you spend too much time searching for materials
  • you want ready-to-use lessons and vocabulary resources
  • you want practical tools you can adapt to your classroom
  • you sometimes wonder, “What should I teach next?” or “How do I make this work for my students?”
  • you value guidance from someone who is still doing this work in a real classroom

Created by an EL teacher who still teaches in the classroom
I’m Ieva, an EL teacher, educator, and consultant with more than 15 years of experience supporting multilingual learners.

I’ve also been an English learner myself, and I’m still in the classroom today.

I created the Blueprint because EL teachers definitely don’t need more scattered information.

They need practical resources they can actually use with the students sitting in front of them.
